The Hedley Foundation
About
In 1971 the Hedley Family (whose forebear William Hedley designed and patented the first effective steam locomotive, Puffing Billy, in 1813) established The Hedley Foundation.
The Hedley Foundation now provides charitable support to young people, in particular, and to those who are disadvantaged and vulnerable.
Mission
Catrine Games Hall Trust - SC050067 are delighted to announce that we have been kindly awarded £3000 from the Hedley Foundation to be used to create a club for our teenagers of the community. This fund will be used towards a weekly support and activity club to encourage teenagers into sports, fitness, well-being activities and volunteering roles within the facility.
Vision
As well as using some of the funds for Teenage sports activities, we intend to empower the youth by allowing them to establish their own club, where they will learn budgeting, event organisation, teamwork, activity planning, and more.
The primary goal is to foster a youth-led activity within the village.
