ARIA Main Fund

We are very grateful to have received this award from ARIA.  It has enabled us to contract a Funding/Development officer for 5 months.  This position was filled by Lanie Niven, who has been working hard behind the scenes on our Sustainability project.  Working with our funders and contractors to ensure the success of the first stage of our task.

In our task for the building we have incorporated Carbon Neutral, Climate friendly proposals.  This is important to us as a facility.  Responsibility and care to the future generations is a big factor in our "Sustainability Project".  We are planning to install Solar Panels and a heat pump to the facility and remove oil/gas forms of energy.  This will also cut our overheads greatly in this Cost of Living crisis and give us a better chance at maintaining a sustainable business.

We held an open day in August 2023 to ask for your input regarding all of these proposals, and value the amazing feedback we received.  The activity ideas and improvement requests have all been taken on board, and we will do our very best to provide our users with what they have asked.  We shall have another open day in March, at the end of this part of the project to keep you all informed at all stages, and again we shall value all of your feedback.

This funding award also enabled us to contract Inch Architects to carry out a feasibility study, and draw up plans for Catrine Games Halls proposed extension.

After a few meetings with our Trustees, the information and discussions should be put into a rough sketch up before the end of the year, and we then hope to have a 3d model of our proposed build to share with you all at our next Community open day in March.

We propose to incorporate in our extension:

A larger Multi-Gym suitable for multiple users.

A designated Spin Bike Room.

A Meeting/Conference room with small kitchen

Facility for a larger room for community use.

Updated facilities/changing room/showers
